Adding another new talent to their roster, Stellar Fountain welcomes Something Else to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Russia, Something Else has been a fixture of of the melodic techno underground for nearly a decade. Releases for Steyoyoke, Traum and ZEHN Records highlight his discography, while world class DJs Nick Warren, Shiba San and more have taken a liking to his work. Now, presenting a more organic side of his studio repertoire, Something Else debuts on Stellar Fountain with 'Kumushka', alongside remixes from St.Ego and Julian Liander.

Beginning with the original mix we have a lovely nature-centric backdrop which sets the stage for some emotional synth swagger and a foundation of organic beats. Full of character and groove, it's dusty percussive arrangements and poignant chord stabs eventually give way to the gorgeous vocals of Veronika Sokolova. Taking centrestage across the break, this thematic phrasing adds a completely new dimension to the track, almost prayer-like in a way and perfectly setting up a finale of emotive musicality and tasteful effects.

Perhaps one of the most prolific organic house producers of late has been St.Ego. In nine months the Russian artist has racked up almost fifty discography credits and with remarkable consistency I might add. Here he makes his Stellar Fountain return with another sensational remix which follows on from his 'Moments' EP from earlier this month. The groove and overall framework are a bit more pronounced here but the sensual feeling from the Original is most certainly conveyed, and the vocal does get utilized across the break, onwards to a glowing finale.

The release concludes with Julian Liander returning to the label with the second and final remix of 'Kumushka'. Making his third appearance on the Hungarian imprint, the Buenos Aires resident delivers a strong percussive version with amazing exotic elements and nicely timed use of the vocal across the full track, while break offers the full phrasing. A strong rhythmic finale is likely what will shine for most people though, making it an ideal set building piece. Sensational stuff from Julian which rounds out an excellent Stellar Fountain debut for Something Else. Don’t miss it.
