Releases Ron Flatter – Sahara / Proteus [Beat Boutique] By Release Promo Posted on 10th March 2019 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest from DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique finds Ron Flatter returning to the label for a new EP. The German artist made his debut on the Israeli imprint in October of last year with 'Six Synths'. Also laying claim to releases on Einmusika, Stil Vor Talent and Traum, Ron now lands back on Beat Boutique with 'Sahara / Proteus' alongside remixes from Lonya & Maydan and Phil de Burn. Beginning with the quirky sounds of the title cut it’s clear that Ron has crafted some of his most unique work to date. Fresh and playful across it’s seven minute journey, it’s a sensory delight full of great dance floor dynamics. As mounds of bass undulate, astral designs and stunning effects add a cosmic vibe, before eventually melting down into a break of frayed sonics. Building subtly, the beauty lies in the drop, classy in execution and undeniably groovy with rolling rhythmic qualities, no doubt set for a massive reaction on the dance floor. The companion piece ‘Proteus’ comes with a fluid and more emotive approach. Warm, punchy beats and tranquil lines set a stirring mood early, with smooth chord changes only adding to it’s poignant charm. The main break furthers the narrative, melting down to a delicate sizzle before effortlessly shifting energy into an exhilarating finale. Occasional studio partners Lonya & Maydan return to the label and provide the lone interpretation of 'Sahara'. Opting for a peak time approach, the Asymmetric bosses craft a driving groove, robust rhythmic core and trails of stunning effects. Crunchy electronics and ethereal overlays lead perfectly into a short but impactful break. Striking tones then build tension with each successive loop as a granular wave sparks the groove for a euphoric road home. The release concludes with Phil de Burn returning to the label for his second appearance. The Israeli artist first appeared on Beat Boutique in June of last year with his 'End Credits' single. Now returning for his first remix, Phil puts an indie dance twist on 'Proteus'. Hugely energetic yet monumentally spaced out it's a uniquely cosmic take on the track, one which conveys the emotion locked in the original on a slightly more subversive and perhaps satisfying level. A fave on the release for us and a great way to cap it off. Highly recommended.
