Releases Waxman – Concord [Wide Angle Recordings] By Release Promo Posted on 1st September 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Blake Sutherland’s Wide Angle Recordings returns with a new single from Waxman. The Toronto based artist has become a regular contributor to the Canadian imprint with this being his third appearance. Waxman’s label debut from February of 2017 sparked interest in the Canadian artist for his well produced, hook laden style of electronica. His latest entitled ‘Concord’ comes with much anticipation being paired with a remix from Dustin Nantais. The original mix leads the release off and it’s positive, poppy vibes come at an appropriate time as the sun begins to set on the summer season. Filled with gorgeous vocal phrases and a bevy of synth clusters, it’s a concise yet eventful seven minute journey. Waxman is quite an intriguing artist, not really fitting into any stylistic box so I always look forward to his productions and this one is on the money again. Fellow Canadian and Toronto resident Dustin Nantais provides the lone remix here, which follows his massive ‘Last Legs’ EP courtesy of Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music. I’ve noted on more than one occasion what a creative remixer Dustin is and he’s proven that here again. A complete overhaul of the framework makes for a deeper, groovier feel while the vocal motifs get intertwined with a less distinct reshuffle of the synth elements. Classy sounding stuff from Dustin which rounds out a unique and inspired release from Wide Angle Recordings. Highly Recommended.
