The latest release from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint finds the label presenting the second installment of it’s ‘Strangers’ series. Launched in August of 2017 the Various Artist showcases put the spotlight on the talent rich region of Cordoba, featuring fresh music from some of the province’s most touted names. Volume Two returns to the label’s homeland of Cordoba once again and features (in order of appearance) Claudio Cornejo, Afterburn, Antrim feat. Paula S, Julian Nates and Funkstate and Carl OS.

The deep, enchanting grooves of Claudio Cornejo’s ‘Bansuri’ leads the release off, setting in motion what is another stunning five track voyage. Cross cultural motifs and organic designs make for a charming eight minute journey, leading perfectly into the second selection from After Burn. Best known as one half of Some Little Things, Leandro Moyano goes deeper on his After Burn project with ‘I Wanna Go Where The People Go’. Silky smooth vocal lines, dulcet synths and a rolling groove highlight the piece before spiralling designs make for a delightful second act.

Label boss Antrim is next and once again he works in conjunction with the vocal talents of Paula Os. Fluid, warm and a touch esoteric, it’s a mystical creation with a bevy of meditative qualities, none moreso than a drifting, melancholic third act. The EP’s fourth selection finds Julian Nates making his label debut with ‘Certainty of Life’. Building on the momentum of ICONYC and Massive Harmony releases, Julian unleashes a pure progressive creation driven by mallet-like clusters, airy vocals and emotive tones.

The release concludes with Funkstate and Carl OS collaborating for the first time on ‘Calypso’. This talented trio craft a deep number that’s perfectly dialled for the dance floor. A warm, perfectly sculpted low end brings funk and roll before a starry vocal highlights the break, ultimately leading to a hypnotic conclusion. It rounds out a fantastic second installment of ‘Strangers’ which continues the high precedent set by the inaugural edition. Highly Recommended.
