Brazil's Transensations unveils their new For Senses imprint with the first installment of 'Habitat'. This new division looks to focus on the deeper, more organic qualities of house. If you've been a follower of Transensations in the past you know they have touched on organic house previously on occasion with music from Greenage, RIGOONI and more. As a natural extension of Transesations, For Senses now begins their journey with 'Habitat', a ten track collection featuring music from their Brazilian homeland, along with Argentina and Sri Lanka.

Complete with a bevy of highlights it is the Brazilian duo of GUGGA & Siiker who deliver one of the collection's most satisfying creations in 'Holdings'. It's glassy arps and hopeful atmospherics bring moments that are both exotic and otherworldly, ultimately setting the tone for the entire collection. The groovy, upbeat sounds of Caio Candido's 'Moonflower' follows, keeping the focus firmly on the dance floor, before the wistful, instrumental qualities of 'Alegria' by Dan Cunha shift energy into the laid back beats of 'Caule' by Breno Mos.

Rising Sri Lankan talent KODA follows releases via Droid9 and Strangers Beats with the playful energy of 'Wake Up Sam', nicely setting the stage for the collections two progressive inspired tracks from Rodrives and Marco Fredrick. Although just their first release, For Senses already has a good handle on undiscovered talent, as several of the artists featured here have less than ten discography credits. Such is the case with with Brazil's Petty Touches whose 'Morgana' comes off as both sultry and soulful, impressive for just his third officially released production. As the collection begins to wind down, Ran6dy's aptly titled 'When the Sun Comes Up' provides that blustery morning glow to reflect back on the previous selections, while the transcendent sounds of nature which highlight the break provide the perfect segue into buoyant, melancholic sounds of Lucas Donda's 'Hamelin'. An apt final track perhaps, as it puts a resounding stamp on an impressive first release from For Senses, a label who looks to be one of 2022's best new organic imprints by years end. Highly recommended.
