The Loco & Xiasou – Goodbye [Deepwibe Underground]

The latest release from Deepwibe Underground finds The Loco & Xiasou presenting a new EP entitled 'Goodbye'. Having both appeared on the label previously in solo capacity the duo also lays claim to a collective discography with releases on Balkan Connection, Electronic Tree, Movement Recordings and Stellar Fountain. Now presenting their first ever joint productions, The Loco & Xiasou return to Deepwibe Underground with a two track EP.

Beginning with the title selection The Loco & Xiasou craft a smooth and serene creation that’s nicely geared for peak time play. Warm beats and thunderous bass lines unite for a powerful low end, while vocal fragments and fiery percussion add mightily to its energetic nature. Emotive yet tense across the first act, bands of effects take the narrative into a nostalgic break, melting down to a wall of shimmering electronics, before an epic build cues a warm drop and fluid finale.

The trancey melodic qualities continue with the companion piece ‘You're Gone’. It’s meaty kicks and charged underbelly provide a perfect balance of power and drive. The vocal sample from 'Goodbye' gets re-used here, further linking the two tracks. The main break presents a more distinct and undeniably trance inspired lead, pushing emotion to the upper levels amidst a gentle atmospheric glow, as the beats drop for a feel good final movement. It rounds out two charming collaborations from The Loco & Xiasou who look to progressive music's golden era for inspiration here. Don't miss it.
