Hailing from Russia, St. Ego first came to our attention in 2022 with a release courtesy of Madloch’s 3rd Avenue. Smooth and organic in equal measure, the three track offering caught the attention of organic house fans for its deep and musical approach. The remainder of the year saw St. Ego go on a creative swell, releasing five more projects for 3rd Avenue while also adding Bekool Records, Dreamers, Massive Harmony Records, Soundteller and more to his resume. Now, following an EP for Oscar Holgado's Symmetric, St.Ego makes his debut on Stellar Fountain with 'Moments', alongside remixes from Deepness & Chär Spinelli, Niko Garcia & Van Vazquez and Miraculum. For a newer artist St.Ego has been quite prolific and remarkably consistent, which continues here across his two originals. Title selection 'Moments' lands with a glowing thump, flowing through evolving percussive arrangements and soulful musicality, while mountainous grooves keep the focus on the dance floor. Coming to full fruition across the break, it's a heartfelt piano theme which takes centrestage and certainly steals some hearts in the process. Meanwhile, 'Dance With Me' follows suit with a gorgeous selection of exotic drums and dulcet musicality, ultimately making for a great complementary track. Across three remixes we get further depth and choice, beginning with Deepness & Chär Spinelli. The talented trio delivers a stand out remix here, stripping things down a touch and focusing on a narrative which relies on rhythm, groove and atmosphere. It's this cohesive flow which perfectly sets up a tastefully executed second half highlighted by warm strummy motifs. Also bringing some of their best work are Niko Garcia & Van Vazquez who pair for a soulful rendition of 'Moments'. Complete with soulful musicality and a great dance floor sensibility, the mix flows beautifully into an expansive interlude, where a nature-centric backdrop eventually reveals a spoken word vocal, which captivates onwards to an emotive finale. The release concludes with Stellar Fountain boss Miraculum providing the third and final interpretation of 'Moments'. The creative transition into organic house has worked amazingly well for the Hungarian artist, bringing his traditional depth and elusive sounds to the genre in what has been a seamless evolution. Whether it’s the hauntingly layered musical fragments or the exotic framework which houses his dusty percussive arrangements, there is a whimsical lean to Miraculum’s latest work that you just can’t ignore.
