Soulmade (AR) – Nightcrawler [Movement Recordings]

Tash’s Movement Recordings opens the new year by welcoming Soulmade (AR) to the label for his debut EP. Based in Rosario, Nahuel V aka Soulmade has gained considerable momentum since adopting the Soulmade moniker in 2020. Armed with a progressive style that often finds a cohesive balance between the new and old school sounds of the genre, it was Soulmade’s first ever release, an EP project for Just Movement, which set the course for subsequent standout offerings via Balkan Connection, Droid9, SLC-6 Music, Univack and more across the next three calendar years. It was 2024 which saw the Argentine make his biggest strides however, making impressive debut’s for Freegrant Music and RKP. Now, continuing that momentum into 2025, Soulmade makes his Movement Recordings debut with ‘Nightcrawler’.

The eerie qualities of ‘Nightcrawler’ further cement Soulmade’s unique take on progressive house, forecasting a darker underbelly, spooky motifs and a fiery effects narrative. As somewhat of a departure from his previous projects, Soulmade’s halloween-esque motifs provide a memorable main theme, while a grooved-out final act is sure to cast a spell over the dancefloor.

‘Noctem’ follows in fine style and further cements the Argentine’s elusive vision. Warm kick drums, prophetic effects and quirky synth lines make for some of Soulmade’s most elusive sounds to date, while fragmented vocals and an ominous break shift energy for the ultimate array of psychedelic sonics across a spirited finale.

The third and final original ‘Samurai’ opts for a more emotive approach, steering towards lighter monochromes, while consciously creating energy as grooves pulse and effects orbit. Trance-inspired melodies soon take centrestage, emerging in grand fashion, carrying an uplifting quality into the final break, before getting washed away amidst an array of charged beats and pyrotechnic effects.
