Based in Los Angeles, America, Sabo is an influential pioneer of organic house, but he has eclectic tastes that also incorporate genres ranging from progressive house to deep tech. He is known internationally for his storytelling DJ sets that enrapture dancefloors, and his productions embrace his innate knowledge of how to captivate mind, body, and soul. Sol Selectas is a leading outlet for organic house and its associated genres, and it’s where Sabo releases the majority of his own music, alongside productions by others such as Hraach, Armen Miran, Namito, Be Svendsen, German Brigante, and many others. On remix duty, FNX Omar is a Moroccan artist from Casablanca, and he is an Afro house producer that combines traditional rhythms and percussion from Morocco with modern electronic sounds. His unique and invigorating style can be found on influential record labels including Get Physical, MoBlack, Nervous Records, Freerange, Watergate, and Kindisch. The original mix of, “Freedom,” has soulful vocals layered with melodic chords and array of organic sounds such a saxophone stabs and guitar licks. Sparse melodies and bass flurries are sandwiched between techy percussion with a minimal sound, while melodic pads build moments of suspense. FNX Omar’s remix of “Freedom” adds rhythmic synth stabs, gliding pads and muffled vocal stabs that alongside his additional percussion, create a jackin’ groove. The original’s vocal remains the track’s focal point, but the backing track has been injected with a boost of Afro house energy.
