Releases Nicolas Rada – Genesis [Or Two Strangers] By Release Promo Posted on 16th September 2020 5 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers finds Nicolas Rada returning for his debut single. Having made his label debut in 2019 with a well received remix of Analog Jungs ‘Particle’, the Argentinean artist has solidified his place amongst progressive music’s elite with releases on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Now following the August release of his latest Sudbeat offering ‘Satori’, Nicolas lands back on Or Two Strangers with ‘Genesis’ alongside a remix from Kasey Taylor. Nicolas’ affinity for melodic storyboarding has never been more profound than on ‘Genesis’. Renowned for his detailed drum work, the Buenos Aires resident marries smooth hypno-grooves and sultry rhythmic structures. Whimsical and buoyant across the first act, it’s creamy keys create a redolent storyboard, while timely transitions and emerging atmospheres add to its melancholic charm. The second of two interludes provides a striking yet restrained dose of tension, never losing sight of it’s poignant musical themes and placid overlays, which ultimately carry this timeless gem. Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of ‘Genesis’ is Kasey Taylor who makes his label debut. Based in Melbourne, the Australian artist has firmly etched his place in the history of progressive music. A three-decade long career has yielded releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and his own long standing Vapour Recordings. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Kasey has travelled the world, playing events for Bedrock, Global Underground and Renaissance, while remaining a staple of Australia's premiere event, the world-renowned Rainbow Serpent Festival. Now following a contribution to The Soundgarden’s ‘Summer Collection’, Kasey debuts on Or Two Strangers with a stunning take on ‘Genesis’. Taking a cue from the original while adding a sleeker state of mind, the Australian artist carves out a fluid groove adorned with firing percussive, meditative lines and fresh harmonic phrases. Esoteric chord changes provide a unique emotional response, as charming overlays and wispy effects create a bridge into an impactful break, before smoothly shifting energy into a driving finale. A stunning interpretation from Kasey, capping off another exceptional release for Antrim’s Or Two Strangers.
