Meeting Molly selects 10 tracks which influenced his journey into Progressive House

Hailing from Russia, Meeting Molly first emerged in 2019 with an EP via Amsterdam based powerhouse Songspire. Deep and dreamy across three tracks, it set the course for what has been a remarkable five-year stretch. Beloved for his progressive minded approach, Meeting Molly would quickly build an impressive resume, notching standout projects for Higher States, Juicebox Music, Meanwhile, Sound Avenue and Mango Alley, the latter of which would become his primary home. This week finds Meeting Molly making his debut on Forty Cats' PURRFECTION imprint with a stellar remix of 'Fallitur' by Matt Oliver.

1. Sasha - Xpander

2. Bedrock - Heaven Scent

"Heaven Scent" is one of those tracks that makes you think about what makes music epic. It’s a true classic with stunning dynamics, inspiring experiments with extended, tension-filled moments that create a profound emotional impact.

3. Eric Prydz - Opus

"Opus" is mesmerizing in how it gradually reveals its melody. This track is like a lesson in composition: how each element can slowly and organically evolve, ultimately leading to an unforgettable climax. It’s a perfect example of how patience and attention to detail can make a track extraordinary.

4. Deadmau5 - I Remember

"I Remember" is minimalism at its finest. I’ve always loved how Deadmau5 masterfully blends simple yet deeply resonant melodies with rich basslines. This track has an incredible ability to evoke strong emotions in listeners through its purity and emotional depth.

5. Paul Kalkbrenner - Sky and Sand

This track has always inspired me with its unique balance of minimalist techno and soulful melody. There’s something very warm and genuine about it that allows you to discover new layers with each listen. It’s a masterpiece that shows how melody and simplicity can be incredibly powerful.

6. Yunus - Meeting Molly (Guy J Remix)

Guy J gave the original an amazing progressive touch. This remix is something special to me (Just look at my alias :). It combines atmosphere and melody, creating a deep, hypnotic mood. This track became a benchmark for how music can be both emotional and danceable.

7. Tomcraft - Loneliness (Adam K & Soha's Shadow Remix 2010)

This remix breathed new life into the original. I’ve always been drawn to its groovy foundation and brilliant use of vocals. This track proved that vocal elements can be seamlessly woven into atmospheric and rhythmic textures

8. Croquet Club - Kimono

"Kimono" is a perfect example of how simplicity can be key to perfection. This track is deeply emotional, filled with a warm atmosphere that seems to envelop you. It’s a reminder of the importance of subtle details and how even the most minimal arrangements can leave a lasting impression.

9. Soundprank - Burner

"Burner" is both a technical and melodic track that captures my attention with its structural perfection every time. It taught me how to integrate complex rhythmic patterns and melodies into a cohesive composition while maintaining emotional depth.

10. D-Pulse - Velocity Of Love

This track has always inspired me with its organic feel. It's filled with warm, live-sounding elements, and each part flows naturally. Combining funk and electro elements, it gives the track its own unique character. This piece has become a symbol for me of how music can be both sensual and rhythmically engaging.
