Releases Lobor D – Mad [Dopamine White] By Release Promo Posted on 10th May 2021 6 min read 1 2 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Lobor D to the label for his debut EP. Born in Belgrade but now based in Pancevo, the Serbian artist is a founding member of the ASAP DJ organization, the primary events promotion in the city. In addition to being a highly regarded DJ, Lobor D has also established himself in the production world with releases via Bonzai Progressive and One Of A Kind. Now continuing to build momentum in the landscape of progressive music, Lobor debuts on Dopamine White with 'Mad', alongside a remix from George Ledakis. Beginning with the original mix of 'Mad' Lobor D continues to show he's a rising star in the world of progressive house. Dark and pulsating from the outset, waves of key changing bass power the foundation, while clattering percussion and swirling effects surround the framework. Crunchy arps add a unique character to groove, perfectly setting up the introduction of a striking vocal sample. Mysterious and compelling, the vocal storyboard plays out across the break, building sizable tension before an exhilarating crescendo cues a lively finale. And for the less vocally DJs out there a Dub Mix has also been provided. The companion piece 'Mikroputnik' follows with a peak-time, percussive vibe that should fare quite well on the dance floor. Robust rhythms carry the rolling foundation while percussive splashes and sweeping effects trail across the stereo field. Once again drama and tension continue to rise, as a well-crafted break and symphonic theme reset the groove for a chugging finale. Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Mad' is George Ledakis. First appearing on the progressive music scene in 2016 with a release on 238W, the Greek artist went on to greater successes in the coming years. Just Movement and Movement Recordings became landing spots for George's timeless sound, while more recently he has found a home on Another Life Music and Inner Shah Recordings. Always a creative remixer George now makes his Dopamine White debut with a quality rendition of 'Mad'. The Athens resident takes a heady approach with a muscular groove and resounding rhythms. Operating as a dub, the emphasis lies on filtered arps and striking effects, particularly across a tension filled break which eventually melts down to a gentle sonic sizzle, as the commanding groove drops for a rocking finish. An inspired interpretation from George which caps off an excellent Dopamine White debut for both himself and Lobor D. Don't miss it.
