Kerabo – Sigiriya [Skanda Records]

Continuing a strong start to the year, Skanda Records welcomes Kerabo to the label for his debut single. As an alter-ego of well known Indian artist and Lohit Records boss Kash Trivedi, Kerabo's first release landed in 2019 with resounding success. Progressive grooves and cross cultural motifs resonate throughout the Ahmedabad resident's sound, and now as 2022 begins to take shape Kash continues to build on Kerabo's story with his first single for Skanda Records entitled 'Sigiriya'.

Kerabo’s ability to craft expressive musical journeys continues to shine on ‘Sigiriya’. Smooth yet muscular, its rippling groove is carved to perfection with rolling undulation driving momentum forward. Developing in waves across the first movement; ethereal phrasing, dusty percussion and soulful wails fill in the framework, before a timely break shifts the narrative further into mystical territory. Wondrously spiritual, the centrepiece serves to highlight it's hazy musicality, conjuring up cross cultural visions in the process, eventually giving way to a smooth re-entry and pulsating finale. Deep and impactful, it goes down as the most character rich offering of Kerabo's resume thus far and makes for an excellent release from Skanda records once again. Don't miss it.
