Stellar Fountain caps off 2017 with one of its most anticipated releases from Espen. The Norweigen artist made his debut on the Hungarian imprint in June of this year with a remix of 'Electric Night' by Alex Vidal. Now following releases on A Must Have and Massive Harmony Records, Espen returns to Stellar Fountain with 'Plates' alongside remixes from GMJ and Marcelo Paladini.

Espen’s deep, atmospheric sound fits the Stellar Fountain ethos perfectly and ‘Plates’ might be one of his strongest tracks to date. The smooth and perfectly contoured groove sounds fabulous as indistinct vocals and wispy atmospheres create an otherworldly vibe. It’s carries perfectly into a dusty and moderately tense breakdown before a wave of noise initiates an awesome final act. A classy blend of deep and progressive house from Espen.

The first interpretation is provided by GMJ who is making his second appearance on the label. It was almost two and a half years ago that the Australian artist made his debut on the Hungarian imprint, remixing ‘Ameoba’ by Andres W. Now in a year highlighted by releases on Anjunadeep and Replug, GMJ returns to Stellar Fountain with a top remix of ‘Plates’. The deeper sensibility from the original comes up a few notches into dreamy progressive territory and it works amazingly well. No matter how big they go, there’s always an effortless vibe with all of GMJ’s productions, and for as epic as this sounds all of the elements sit perfectly in the mix, constantly evolving, with the subtlety and emotion of a master storyteller. Awesome remix from GMJ.

The release concludes with Marcelo Paladini taking the track into more stripped back yet musically inspired territory. It’s tough chugging groove is perfect for the dance floor while a distinct tonal theme and wispy atmospheric backdrop add additional warmth. The main break, while short, strips the track down to its emotive core before the pulsating groove drops for maximum dance floor effect. Marcelo has been consistent all throughout 2017 and continues to deliver with another great remix here. Speaking of consistency, Stellar Fountain certainly had its best year on record with unique and varied projects that stood above most progressive house imprints. Looking forward to see what they do in 2018.
