Nikko.Z's Dopamine White opens the month of November by welcoming Elysian (GR) to the label for her debut EP. Giota Gratsani, known as Elysian (GR), hails from the picturesque town of Trikala, Greece, where her musical journey began. From a young age, she delved into the world of music, starting with music theory and guitar lessons. Her drumming skills are entirely self-taught, showcasing her natural talent and dedication. However, it was the realm of electronic music that truly ignited her passion. Giota's commitment to her craft led her to complete DJing school in 2019, followed by a music production course in 2020. Her talent quickly garnered recognition, with her initial releases soaring into the top 10 of Beatport's peak time techno chart. Now, looking to showcase a more melodic side of her repertoire, Elysian (GR) adds Dopamine White to her resume with 'Love Wins', alongside a remix from Hyunji-A.

Aimed squarely at a peak hour dance floor, EP opener 'Love Wins' finds Elysian (GR) composing with a strong sense of space. The Greek artist masterfully marries astral sonics and clattering percussion with burly beats and rolling grooves. An array of melodic hooks and orbiting effects steal the air across the first act, adding texture and depth leading into the heart of the journey. Coming to full fruition across the main break, its deconstructed vocals and evolving textures create a prophetic vibe, building tension with each successive pass, before giving way to the thunderous groove for a charged finale. The companion piece 'Reborn' lands with a deeper, more ethereal approach. Enticing from the start, its punchy grooves, haunted vocal pads and dystopian soundscapes marry perfectly for anticipatory moments. Pushing the narrative further, a cinematic-style break sits at the heart of the journey, flowing through percolating acid-lines and icy overlays, before drama peaks for an otherworldly conclusion.

The release concludes with Hyunji-A returning to the label for the lone interpretation of 'Love Wins'. The Korean artist calls Montreal, Canada home where she is a part of the city's burgeoning nightlife, having DJed at well known venues such as Newspeak and Stereo. Upon making her debut on La Famiglia Recordings in 2020, Hyunji-A has since gone on to showcase her music via 3rd Avenue, TOR and more. Often sitting in the creative space between progressive house, deep house and melodic techno, the Canadian artist made her Dopamine White debut in 2021 with the four-track showcase 'And We Start Again', a release which would lead to further successes via Clubsonica, onedotsixtwo and TOR. Now, following a contribution to Mango Alley's ADE 008 Collection, Hyunji-A makes a welcome return to Dopamine White with a groovy take on 'Love Wins'. Drawing inspiration from the original, Hyunji-A layers exotic percussive arrangements and arcane electronics atop punchy beats and chunky grooves. Mysterious and thought-provoking throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for a club-effective yet uniquely atmospheric journey, elegantly melting down to wavy arps, before a vortex of astral sonics sparks an immense finale.
