Dmitry Molosh – Resistance [Deepwibe Underground]

Continuing what has been a stellar year, progressive house phenom Dmitry Molosh returns to Deepwibe Underground with 'Resistance'. Having established a bond with the label in 2021, Belarusian artist Dmitry Molosh has made Estonian imprint Deepwibe Underground one of his primary landing spots. Across an eighteen month stretch Dmitry has delivered five originals and three remixes, while also contributing five additional remixes to organic house offshoot -102C. Key collaborations with Cid Inc and Navar have been discography highlights of late, coming courtesy of Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and his own Propulsion imprint respectively. Now as the summer season begins to take shape, Dmitry makes a welcome return to Deepwibe Underground for his first EP project entitled 'Resistance'.

On the title track we see Dmitry strip things back a bit for a proper prog-tech hybrid stomper. Beginning with bouncy beats and buoyant basslines it's haunted minimalism is hard to resist. Driving percussive arrangements and dystopian-style sonics reveal an unexpected shade as the first act evolves, eventually bending tension over the edge during an interlude breaking vortex, which ultimately fuels a torrid finale.

Meanwhile, on selection two 'Autobahn' Dmitry opts for a more traditional approach with catchy lead themes and robust, rolling grooves carrying a nice mid-set style energy. The feel-good factor is high as multiple explosions of serotonin arrive during the main break, with hopeful phrasing blanketing a darker underbelly, as a wave of noise sparks reveals a goosebump worthy conclusion. Capping the release off are the hazy energetic vibes of 'Custodian', a track which carries a confident club energy and re-affirms Dmitry's ability to tip a dance floor over the edge. Whimsical melodic themes and razor sharp design sit on a perch of their own throughout, ultimately carrying this otherworldly journey. It rounds out a sensational return to Deepwibe Underground for Dmitry, an artist who remains very much at the forefront of all things progressive. Highly recommended.
