Dante Saucedo – Desire [Balkan Connection]

Balkan Connection welcomes a new face to the label this week in Dante Saucedo. The Argentinean artist made his debut on the label’s South American division in January of last year. Subsequent releases on 3xA Music and Massive Harmony Records put Dante firmly on the progressive map. Now for his first release of 2018 Dante presents ‘Desire’ alongside a remix from Tatsama.

The title track leads the release off and would have to be considered Dante’s most sought after production to date. It’s pure progressive sensibilities are strong and the restraint shown for someone with such a short discography is excellent. The groove is deep and powerful, working perfectly with a strong rhythmic core before a hazy harmonic break brings all the emotive power you could ever want. The companion piece ‘Recuerdos’ brings the tempo up a touch but the deep, groovy vibe remains. Again it’s a serene break which serves as the ultimate centrepiece before a warm re-entry seals it’s brilliance.

The lone interpretation of ‘Desire’ is provided by Tatsama who is also making his label debut. As one of his country’s most promising progressive house talents the Indian artist owns an impressive discography highlighted by releases on Juicebox Music, PHW Elements and Massive Harmony Records. A regular in Beatport’s progressive house charts, Tatsama delivers another amazing production with his remix of ‘Desire’. The energy and dance floor sensibility shines with a neatly constructed groove, pleasant melodies and smooth yet dynamic transitions. A delightful arp fills in the framework after the break, rising in intensity before getting washed for an effects laden finale. A killer remix from Tatsama which will no doubt be a favourite of many progressive DJs out there. Don't miss it.
