Based in Argovia, Switzerland Jay Phonic first discovered electronic music in the early nineties. A DJ first, Jay’s passion quickly evolved into music production, experimenting with sounds and grooves until ultimately making his debut in 2010. His penchant for crafting cross pollinated creations quickly found favour with some of the underground’s most cutting edge DJs, while landing him releases on Audio Safari and Tenor Sounds. Now embarking on the most anticipated release of his career, we sit down with Jay for an exclusive interview as he debuts on Inspired By Trees with 'Fighter'. Hello Jay, I hope you’re having a good day and thanks for joining us, what are your plans for this week? Yes, I’m having a busy week besides work, my studio needs a bit of cleanup, maybe there is time left to craft some new tunes and ideas for future project. But normally pre-xmas time is very busy in the music shop where I work, so there is a good time management needed during December.

His ideas are fresh, bold and exciting, which has lead to support from the worlds finest DJs. We caught up with him for an exclusive interview on the cusp of his Beatfreak Recordings debut. Hi Hazem, thanks for joining us, tell us a bit about yourself, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a producer and DJ? Hey, thanks for the invite! First of all I’m a computer geek. I did not come from any music background. I grew up listening to Arabic music, R&B, rock and roll, the usual. When I was young, I would try out any computer software I could get my hands on. The first experience I had with music software was on FruityLoops. (FL Studio). I didn’t know anything about electronic music, its styles or genres. I was just experimenting and making ideas. I was fascinated by the

Nølah is a talented producer and DJ from Lleida -northern city of Catalonia near the Pyrenees- although she has settled now her residence in Barcelona. Her passion for the music started at the early age of 7, studying classical music and then, after a while later, being part of a rock band as a guitarist and composer. This whole path of experiencing and learning can be perceived in her particular sound. Hi Nølah, thanks for joining us, tell us a bit about yourself, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a producer, DJ and ultimately a live performer? I started to get interested in electronic music in a more serious way when I finished college. I began producing riffs / loops with my guitar and rhythmic bases with logic, until I decided that I had to get serious and learn to work and use a DAW. In the end I decided to learn Ableton since I always wanted to perform live, in fact it's something I've done since the very beginni

Today we’re sitting down with Reed Kackley aka BAILE. Being one of LNOE’s newcomers he will be playing Sasha’s sold out label night at ADE later this year. His popularity has certainly sky rocketed with his latest release including remixes by the master himself; Sasha. We thought it was time to catch up... Hi Reed, thanks for taking the time to speak with us, tell us where in the world you are at the moment and what you’ll be up to today. Right now I’m in Brooklyn, NY currently working on a remix. Later I’ll be slowly putting together my live show that I’ll be taking on the road in a couple weeks. Tell us about growing up in Brooklyn, New York and how you discovered electronic music? Are you old enough to have experienced Sasha & John Digweed at Twilo? I actually didn’t move to Brooklyn until about eight years ago. I could tell you about growing up in the suburbs of Washington D.C., in Northern Virginia, but I assure you it is not an interesting story haha.

Hi Eli, thanks for joining us, how are you today and what are you up to? Hi to all of the music lovers on Progressive Astronaut, I’m in great creative shape drowning in my studio & gigs and planning my next steps. Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a producer and DJ? Well as many of you know I started as a singer & a guitar player when I was 14 years old and a few years later I started a funk-rock-pop band named “PORTRAIT”. The band had a huge success and became one of the most popular bands in Israel off all time. When the band stopped I went back to my other youth passion and started Djing in the Tel Avivian underground scene, quickly finding myself back in the studio but this time with the influences from house music that started to rule the clubs in the city. Where do some of your early influences lie? My early influences are an absolutely crazy mix of genres from early music he
