Sahar Z & Vic F – Ollie [Anjunadeep] Returning for its fifth instalment of the series, ‘Explorations 05’ welcomes a fresh wave of talent to Anjunadeep, marking the label debuts of Just Her, Nuage and Sahar Z & Vic F as well as welcoming back prolific production duo Eli & Fur. Following up from their well received ‘Chlo / Wendy Legs’ EP back in 2017, Eli & Fur return with a signature slice of melodic house on the brooding ‘White Sails’. A familiar face on influential imprints such as Bedrock, Suara and Lost & Found, Israel’s Sahar Z teams up with newcomer Vic F on dreamy deep cut ‘Ollie’. Following recent releases with respected imprints Einmusika, Suara and Crosstown Rebels, producing as one half of notable house duo Him_Self_Her as well as a solo artist, we welcome Just Her to the label with the infectious peak time groover ‘Desire’. ► YouTube: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSubscribe ► Soundcloud: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSC ► Website: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstrona Read More
Namito – Anakeys (Just Her Remix) [Selador] After two cameo appearances on our Showcase Series (Volumes 4 & 6), Namito now returns for a starring role of his own making with the 'Anakeys' EP. For the uninitiated, the Iranian born, Berlin based producer is quite the team player, working behind the scenes on many a wide-ranging project from Marc Romboys lauded live orchestral shows to engineering for the legendary Grandmaster Flash! It's two solo creations though that form the basis of this EP with the title track leading from the front. A prime example of a tune that works its way into the subconscious unannounced and then stubbornly refuses to budge. A humdinger if ever there was one! The 'Anakeys' remixes then come from two fertile hotspots of electronic music, Berlin and Brighton via Kling Klong boss Martin Eyerer and long time friend of the label, Just Her who both bring their A-games with reworks of a truly high calibre. And finally, not to be overlooked, were also very proud to include 'Little Cheat Treats' Read More
Doctor Dru – Egypt Express [Jeudi Records] Drus last so well received output on his homebase JEUDI records was Savannah and Praerie. A contribution to the endless wilderness of the african and american grass fields. This year he was reflecting about the joy of existence and what might be the slowest way to travel Egypt. Which curiously lead to the steadily developing funkyish stomper Mind Parade. Its ever evolving 5th line synth and poetry philosophising about joy leads into a dense feverish drop built to shake your existence. This tune is touching the peak time with pure but sublte power. Egypt Express is the romantic imagination of travelling Egypt. A pulsating sequence is carrying you through the journey. Maybe at the camp for the night you took a drag of this pipe and the synth sequence suddenly turns into a psychodelic adventure. But no reason to worry; the pulse is keeping it together and is turning your trip into a ride of joy. ► YouTube: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSubscribe ► Soundcloud: bit.ly/ProgressiveAst Read More
SAMA – Curiosity [Noir] SAMA got in touch with me because I was heavily supporting his track Existence from Kraftek in 2017. We met at ADE and since then we have stayed in touch and I have received tons of great music from him. After lots of back and forth and his enormous patience with my picky taste in music, we finally have his debut ready on Noir Music and I am truly proud of this 2-tracker. Curiosity is the straight forward techno-belter with an infectious spoken vocal to compliment the builds and the mood of this awesome tune. Indifference was the first track I signed and the pitchy bassline on this track not only convinced me but has the clubs going mental every time. Even though SAMA is fairly new to the techno scene, his productions are spot on and sound like they were produced by someone with years of experience. I hope you love this 2-tracker as much as I do. - Noir ► YouTube: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSubscribe ► Soundcloud: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSC ► Website: Read More
WhoMadeWho – Goodbye To All I Know (Fell Reis Night Remix) [Embassy Of Music] WhoMadeWho are that rare thing, a band with their own sound. And their latest longplayer ‘Through the Walls’ adds yet more fuel to the restless, fluctuating bonfire. It sounds as if they won’t cool off or settle down anytime soon and their new single ‘Goodbye To All I Know’ demonstrates that in remarkable fashion. Recorded as one of the last songs for the album in September 2017 the track is actually based on a demo for the solo project of singer Tomas Høffding but “ended up being a perfect choice for the song”. ‘Goodbye To All I Know’ was produced in an analogue way with a lot of different synths and real time knob turning. “And then we added more analogness when we teamed up with Simon Littauer who fired up his big ass modular setup for some great ambient additions” adds Høffding. Rounding things off WhoMadeWho line-uped a top draw remix package for 'Goodbye To All I Know'. The brooding, experimental original is taken to town by the likes of Marvin & Read More
Nick Warren & Tripswitch – Voight Kampff (Cid Inc. Remix) [onedotsixtwo] Nick Brennan’s Tripswitch journey through electronic music reconvenes in 2018 with his recently launched onedotsixtwo label’s next unique artistic step forward. The platform’s third, highly anticipated release – ‘Voight Kampff’ – is, perhaps, the finest track so far from the occasional, intensely creative collaborative project joining Nick Warren and Tripswitch. This outstanding package is further bolstered with an exceptional set of remix interpretations courtesy of Cid Inc. and Öona Dahl. The two Nicks first connected back in 2006, when Warren licensed two Tripswitch tracks for his (now classic) Global Underground ‘GU30 Paris’ compilation. Over time they became good friends, with Warren becoming something of a mentor to Brennan, and with their musical tastes so aligned going right back to the 1980’s, it was inevitable that a studio partnership would develop when the time was right. Having first remixed Joey Fehrenbach ‘Wolves’ (The Soundgarden), their pow Read More
Navar – You Find [Replug] Replug Records continues its 2018 journey by welcoming Navar to the label for his debut EP. Through releasing material on Guy J's Lost & Found Records and Canadian behemoth microCastle, the Dutch artist emerged in 2014, firmly establishing himself in the world of deep melodic house. More recently Navar lent his talents to the long standing Belgian Events brand EDGE, launching their new imprint alongside a remix from Guy J as 2017 came to a close. The Dutch artist now steps into the new year with his long awaited debut for Cid Inc's Replug Records. Beginning with the EP's title track ‘You Find’ it becomes evidently clear what a unique talent Navar has become. The near twelve minute opus effortlessly melds elements of minimal, deep house, progressive and electronica, for a free flowing journey that has become a synonymous and inimitable style of the Dutch artist. Deep and fluid throughout, it’s delicate motifs and organic designs are mysterious yet emotive, backed by a warm Read More
Miguel Lobo – Feelings (OXIA Remix) [Diversions Music] Nicolas Masseyeff & Oxia's Diversions label slinks and slides its way into your 2018 with this deliciously groove-laden triplet from Madrid's Miguel Lobo with Oxia himself on the remix-duties 'Physical Things' bubbles and rolls with a shiny bass hook that taps deep into an ageless, heads-down, hip-swaying sense of hypnosis. With added texture coming courtesy of a crucial spoken word sample, this one locks your floor in for the long-haul. 'Feelings' continues to build on the timeless, rolling sense of groove-kissed positivity. Just on the right side of chunk and funk, there's a deep drive coded in every nuance that salutes three house havens at once: NYC's sass, Chicago's bumps and Ibiza's sexiness. Finally Oxia rolls in with a pristine remix of 'Feelings'. Maintaining the flared percussion and deep-swinging allure of the original while adding several layered arpeggiated tendrils and emotional chords, he's highlighted all the best bits and added his own unique, narrative t Read More
Steve Bug & Langenberg – NGC 6240 (Vince Watson Reshape) [Poker Flat] The second single from Steve Bug & Langenberg's new project together serves up another reminder why both producers are held in such high regard. Steve Bug's unwavering dedication to house music had brought forward yet another winning combination on his own Poker Flat Recordings label, this time with Langenberg - himself a key part of the deep house vanguard in Europe. 'NGC 6240' is one of the harder edged tracks from the album 'Paradise Sold' - a techy, urgent work out with rising arpeggiated leads and sense of impending euphoria. Long time collaborator Tim Englehardt drops by to deliver a signature remix - taking the track in a deeper direction and opening up the arrangement to a trippy, tightly wound groove. The techno veteran Vince Watson also shares his vision for the track in another remix presented here - adding assistant claps and percussions and stretching out the drama over eight and half minutes. ► YouTube: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSubscribe ► Soun Read More
