Cid Inc. – Bird Cherry [Replug] Cid Inc. returns to his Replug Records imprint for the much anticipated follow-up to his chart topping ‘Abyss’. Released in April of this year, the peak time opus enjoyed a two week long stay atop Beatport’s Progressive House tracks chart. Aided by months of live play from Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, the boundless eight minute journey firmly sits as one of the year’s best in progressive house. Now as the summer season winds to a close Cid Inc. presents the much anticipated follow-up entitled ‘Bird Cherry’. For an artist who has captured the imagination of progressive music fans for over a decade, Cid Inc. has raised the bar yet again with ‘Bird Cherry’. From its lively beginnings you’re immediately captivated as tight beats, buoyant bass tones and finely tuned percussion converge for the ultimate rhythmic wave. Sparse yet timely, ghostly effects add further anticipation before crunchy stabs steal the air as the main break commences. The centerpiece shifts the narra Read More
Dirty Doering – Strawberry Fields [Katermukke] Time is considered to be our most valuable good. Time is limited and there's no way additional time can be bought, no matter what the price would be. Therefore those are to be considered rich who've got plenty of time and do know how, and what, to spend their time on in a reasonable way. Those who don't have to live their lives adjusted to the rhythm of a check clock, those not bound to an everlasting cycle of appointments and due dates, and especially those who don't feel like their personal time is taken away from them by the hour but - just in an opposite manner - that time is given to them to use it in the best possible way ever. This comes down to: getting rid of the strict regime installed upon us by watches. These are for those who do not understand the real value of time. Therefore EUCH DIE UHREN UNS DIE ZEIT, an idiom which translates as 'You've got the watches, we've got the time...', is way more than just an album title. It's a specific mind-set perfectly reflecting o Read More

Dousk – Psychobabble (D-Nox & K.A.L.I.L. Remix) [Beat Boutique] Beat Boutique return with the undisputed king of the Greek progressive scene, Dousk. Bursting onto the scene in the early years of the new millenium, he quickly established himself as an adept musician with two highly successful albums and tracks signed to and cream of the progressive world: Bedrock, Kilk, Vapour and more. Here with ‘Psychobabble’ he brings his considerable studio skill to bare with an exciting 8 minute ride to wonderland, with remixes from D-Nox & KALIL, and Out of Sorts. In original form, ‘Psychobabble’ is epic. Epic in a way little else is. From the nuanced percussions that sound hand-made to the interplay of the synths, this is one of those tracks that will slay the floor and stay in you secret weapons folder for a very long time. On remix duties, Out of Sorts opt for a space disco feel, mellowing things out a few degrees and giving the vocal content some extra wonk. D-Nox & KALIL take it up a notch with a more contemporary reimagination of t Read More
Alex Metric & Ten Ven – The Q [Diynamic] Alex Metric & Ten Ven’s „Transmission 1“ is their first release on Diynamic, although their productions are not unheard of in the label’s orbit as Solomun has been supporting them heavily in his sets throughout recent months. Opening track “The Q”, much like the closing track “Plates”, are reminiscent of old UK garage raves with a hint of acid. Minuscule shifts in the pitch give that certain cassette-nostalgia, transporting the listener back to the early 90s. The centre piece titled “Nebula” is a driving melodic deep house tune with a hefty break that brings things to a halt right at its centre, only to return with the catchy riff that is its main feature. ► YouTube: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSubscribe ► Soundcloud: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautSC ► Website: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautWEB ► Facebook: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautFB ► Twitter: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautTW ► Instagram: bit.ly/ProgressiveAstronautIG Buy: bit.ly/2w Read More
Feature: Eli Nissan [Interview + Premiere] Hi Eli, thanks for joining us, how are you today and what are you up to? Hi to all of the music lovers on Progressive Astronaut, I’m in great creative shape drowning in my studio & gigs and planning my next steps. Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you discover electronic music and what led you down the path of wanting to be a producer and DJ? Well as many of you know I started as a singer & a guitar player when I was 14 years old and a few years later I started a funk-rock-pop band named “PORTRAIT”. The band had a huge success and became one of the most popular bands in Israel off all time. When the band stopped I went back to my other youth passion and started Djing in the Tel Avivian underground scene, quickly finding myself back in the studio but this time with the influences from house music that started to rule the clubs in the city. Where do some of your early influences lie? My early influences are an absolutely crazy mix of genres from early music he Read More
