Bodaishin & Agnnih – Ananda EP [Magician On Duty]

Bodaishin & Agnnih partner up for their debut collaborations via Magician On Duty. The former, hailing from Barcelona Spain lays claim to releases on Lump Records, Strangers Beats and The Purr while Agnnish has appeared on Flug Lab and RYNTH. Now embarking on the most anticipated release of their respective careers Bodaishin & Agnnih team up for their first ever collaborative EP via US deep house imprint Magician On Duty.

The meeting of two creative minds, particularly for the first time is always an exciting prospect and Bodaishin & Agnnih have crafted three magical tracks here, beginning with the title selection 'Ananda'. Backed by a framework of warm beats, exotic drums and muted tones comes cross cultural instrumentation and fragmented vocals. Esoteric pianos dominate the main break adding a unique musical slant, before segueing into a soulful yet funky finale. 'Dzuwa' follows suit with more percussive brilliance and charming atmospheres. A low slung bassline adds swing and depth before soulful strums and a distinctive vocal sample take centrestage in what proves to be a captivating narrative. Rounding out the release is 'Yoake' which comes in abundantly percussive and a touch trippy. Indistinct vocals run through the piece while meandering themes and a creamy arp drift across the framework. A touch dubby and hugely rhythmic, it rounds out three well crafted organic productions from Bodaishin & Agnnih, who make their debut collaborations most memorable.
