Billion Watchers – Seasons Of Clouds [Stellar Fountain]

Rounding out the month of July, Stellar Fountain welcomes Billion Watchers back to the label for a new EP. As one of the label's biggest contributors over the last two years, the Russian artist has recorded five originals and a remix, with the most recent being his rendition of Stephen K Cal's 'Donna'. Now, following projects for Massive Harmony, Sound Avenue and The Purr, Billion Watchers returns to Stellar Fountain with 'Seasons Of Clouds', alongside remixes from Plecta and Emotional Tourist.

Beginning with 'In The Clouds' Billion Watchers continues to impress with his lush organic sounds. Highly musical with a variety of heartfelt themes, from impassioned vocal phrasing to aquatic tinged arps and balmy overlays, this will certainly sound sensational during a sun drenched outdoor event. Moving forward to 'Seasons', Billion Watchers gives us more brilliant organic themes. A touch trippier perhaps but still carrying immense beauty throughout, it's a series of harmonic refrains and fluttery motifs which shine here, all while a backbone of warm beats and exotic percussion carry that mood to the dance floor. Also included is a major scale mix of 'In The Clouds' which offers a slightly different vibe running in F Major as opposed to D Minor.

The first interpretation of 'In The Clouds' is provided by Plecta who makes his label debut. The Greek artist lands on Stellar Fountain with an impressive resume with Amulanga, Hoomidaas, Tale & Tone, RYNTH and The Soundgarden all being vehicles for his deep sound. Always a creative remixer, Plecta takes 'In The Clouds' into a different space, with a greater focus on rhythm and percussion, as evidenced by a swing heavy groove and a wealth of exotic drum elements, while the main parts get chopped and teased at timely moments across the near eight minute journey.

The release concludes with Emotional Tourist also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'In The Clouds'. Hailing from Romania, the Bucharest resident has compiled an impressive discography since first emerging in 2019. Akbal Music, Kindisch, Shanti Radio Moscow, Sound Avenue and When We Dip XYZ have all been landing spots for his transcendent sound. Now making his Stellar Fountain debut Emotional Tourist puts his magic touch on 'In The Clouds'. Aptly titled 'Clouds in the Summer' mix, there's a whimsical quality here that's absolutely gorgeous, with those lush vocal chants and bubbly arps getting set against a backdrop of warm, funked up grooves and nicely manicured percussion. Beautiful work from Emotional Tourist which caps off another amazing release for Stellar Fountain, a label that continues to turn heads in the ever growing organic house landscape.
