News Beatport Genre Changes By ProgressiveAstronaut Posted on 13th September 2016 1 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin This Fall Beatport introduced 3 new genres to their store: • Dance (Launched now) • Future House (Launched now) • Big Room (Launched now) One of Beatport's main goals with the new genres: to make Progressive House sound like Progressive House again. Dance, Future House, and Big Room will be the home for more mainstream sounds. They'll also be making a few changes to existing genres, too: • Electronica - Renamed to "Electronica / Downtempo" • Chill Out - Removed! Songs recategorized as "Electronica / Downtempo" • Electro House - Changed to a sub genre of "Big Room" • Pop / Rock - Removed! Songs will be moved over to "Dance"
