Aioowilly – Colors [For Senses Records]

For Senses Records opens the summer season by welcoming Aioowilly back to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Brazil Denys Willy aka Aioowilly first came to our attention earlier this year with a contribution to the For Senses 'Music For Senses I' collection. 'Aurora' proved to be a highlight and quickly shot to the top of Denys' Beatport best sellers, while also featuring on 'TranSenses Ibiza', a sprawling twenty-track collection via parent label Transensations. Now as we enter the summer season, Aioowilly returns to For Senses for his debut EP 'Colors', alongside a remix from Billion Watchers.

With two tracks that were inspired by Aioowilly's hometown, the Brazilian Northeast beach paradise of Jericoacoara, it is the title selection which sets the tone for the release. 'Colors' comes in aimed squarely at an organic dancefloor but offers much more musicality than what exists in the genre's standard fare. Aioowilly expertly marries fluttery melodic themes, glassy arps and warm atmospheric phrasing with billowing bass tones and carefully placed piano stabs, for the ultimate day time dancefloor experience. Meanwhile, 'Saturno' lands with an equal amount of hope and positivity through it's whimsical wavy arps, fuzzed out chord stabs and a timely break which not only builds anticipation, but finds a nice balance of rhythm and melody to push onwards through a percussion finale.

The release concludes with Billion Watchers making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'Aurora', which as previously mentioned, was featured on the For Senses 'Music For Senses I' earlier this year. Russian artist Billion Watchers has been one of the more talked about newcomers in the organic spectrum and rightly so, as provides another stellar rendition here. Impassioned vocal overlays and Mediterranean style motifs highlight this feel-good seven minute journey, while a beefed up percussion section not only makes this a must for organic dancefloors but also rounds out the release an high note.
