Releases Nick Lampos – Cruiser [Polyptych Limited] By Release Promo Posted on 17th December 2024 6 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Winding down a successful year, Polyptych's Limited division welcomes Nick Lampos to the label for his debut EP. Based in Australia, Nick Lampos has carved out a less than conventional path since first emerging in 2017. A string of progressive minded releases via Framework's Capital Heaven imprint quickly made the Australian artist a name to watch going forward. Looking to showcase his versatility as a producer, Nick would then find a home on Subliminal's Soul division with the housed up sounds of 'We Are Here', a project which would lead to an artist showcase on the label's primary platform, along with an impressive debut for Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Recordings, the latter of which landing just last year. Now, presenting his first project of 2024, Nick adds Polyptych's Limited division to his resume with 'Cruiser'. Beginning with the groovy monochromes of 'Atora’, Nick continues to flex his studio repertoire with an indie-inspired dancefloor journey. A DJ friendly intro sets the pace for warm rhythmic pulses and vibrant chord stabs to layer a smooth pumping bassline. Effortless and fluid across the first act, Nick's masterstroke is to melt the proceedings right down into a cavernous, effects-laden break, building sizable amounts of anticipation, before a reprocessed take on the lead re-merges to spark a feel good finale. Beneath the engaging qualities of 'Atora' lies the equally emotive vibes of the title selection 'Cruiser'. Continuing to operate within the Indie Dance spectrum, Nick's mature no frills production style continues to deliver club effective vibes as warm swaying grooves, charged percussion, flickering arps and a siren-like tone provide an energetic path into the main break. Complete with jet force propulsions and a captivating melodic theme, it's a stripped drop and transitionary second act which prelude a finale of impactful synth swells and luminous top lines, one which may remind many of Michael Cassette's sound which proved to be so effective in 2010. A fitting end to an excellent Polyptych Limited debut for Nick Lampos, an up and coming talent who continues to operate at his creative peak. Highly recommended.
