Leandro Murua – Bye Bye [Soundteller Records]

Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Leandro Murua back to the label for his first EP. Based in Cordoba, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume since first appearing in July of 2020. In just over two years Leandro has landed releases on Balkan Connection South America, Deepwibe Underground, Massive Harmony and more. Also calling Soundteller home, Leandro has appeared on the Polish imprint twice previously, with memorable contributions to the label's Vibrant Vibeland #14 and ADE 2021 Sampler. Now returning for his first EP, Leandro presents a three-track showcase entitled 'Bye Bye'.

Beginning with 'Chita', Leandro crafts a sleek framework of warm beats and well carved grooves. Its rhythmic energy grows quickly, as waves of percussion and percolating arps add drive across the first act. The break builds tension masterfully, as hazy harmonics open up against a wall of swirling effects, eventually breaking off into a thumping finale.

The title selection lands with a bit more power as Leandro shapes a strong groove with shapeshifting arps and layers of effervescent percussion. Emotive melodies eventually take centrestage across the break, building a gentle band of anticipation while never losing sight of their poignant power and ultimately spearing-heading a key changing final act.

The release concludes with the deeper sounds of 'Aya Kala'. Here Leandro uses mildly cross-cultural vocals to blanket creamy atmospheres and a warm, daytime style groove. Its looser framework and spacious percussion does wonders for the track's overall swing, while emerging arps and a cinematic style break perfectly seal it's dance floor appeal. It rounds out three unique and inspired tracks from Leandro who presents his first Soundteller EP in fine style here. Don't miss it.
