GabiM – The Never Ending [Stellar Fountain]

As the fourth quarter of 2019 begins GabiM returns to Stellar Fountain for a new single entitled 'The Never Ending'. The Hungarian born, Malta based artist has never been hugely prolific and it's something that has served him well. 2019 has yielded some gems however, beginning with contributions to Beatfreak and MNL samplers in the early part of the year to a remix for Asymmetric Recordings in June. GabiM now lands back on Stellar Fountain with a new single alongside remixes from Gaston Ponte and NOIYSE PROJECT.

GabiM has explored a broad range of progressive blueprints across his career; some on the deeper tip and some clearly geared for peak time play. On ‘The Never Ending’ we do get something decidedly closer to the latter with a rugged, full bodied groove sitting at the foundation, while electric rhythms and a wealth of percussive elements fill in the framework. The main themes lend themselves to being quite trance inducing, but the rugged quality of the framework dictates otherwise. The end result is a production that’s driving and powerful but also highly hypnotic and deeply emotive.

Along with an amazing original also comes remixes from two of the most hotly tipped progressive risers of the moment. Argentina's Gaston Ponte is first with a version that tastefully takes a cue from the original while carrying a lighter more free flowing cadence. The peak time appeal remains with a perfectly contoured low end pushing forward with discernible momentum. Airy atmospherics and bubbly arps lead perfectly into the main break where timely modulation and smooth chord changes usher in a purring finale.

Rounding out the release are the Sri Lankan duo NOIYSE PROJECT who return to the label for their second appearance. The summer season yielded excellent releases on AMITABHA and Droid9 which has only furthered the pair's momentum. Now following a remix for Consapevole Recordings NOIYSE PROJECT lands back on Stellar Fountain with a stunning rendition of 'The Never Ending'. The mood from the original is well conveyed but with a much tougher more pronounced foundation. Punchy kicks and thick slabs of bass carry a massive presence while trippy effects and percussive waves steal air. Powerful yet meditative it perfectly sets up a glowing break, one where the lead theme is gently teased before a wall of harmonics and effervescent effects provide an energy bridge into an exhilarating third act. Brilliant stuff from NOIYSE PROJECT which rounds out a must have progressive offering from Stellar Fountain. Don't miss it.
