Yöurr – Seasone [90watts]

Yourr makes a stunning debut on 90watts this week with 'Seasone'. The Hungarian artist has gotten his career off to a great start since appearing on the scene late last year. Highlighting his discography are releases on Manual Music's MNL division and the surging Canadian imprint Plaisirs Sonores. Now returning to the Manual family for a second time Yourr presents his first offering for 90watts.

The wonderfully titled 'Seasone' comes in two different versions here with the 2AM mix leading the release off. This would have to be considered Yourr's first foray into afro house and it's turned out incredibly well. Backed by a charged groove, it's layers of organic drums and ethnic motifs make for an energetic first act. It ultimately leads to the introduction of an African vocal during the break, further advancing the afro narrative before getting washed away in a rush of beats and drums for an exhilarating finale. The 2PM Mix comes in a touch deeper but equally suited to the dance floor. The vocal plays a more prominent role here, highlighting the first and third acts, sitting nicely in an warm, emotive storyboard which is sure to cause some goosebump moments along the way. Two amazing versions from Yourr who is definitely an intriguing artist to watch so I'm excited to see what he comes up with next. A great signing for 90watts that comes highly recommended.
