Weekend Heroes – Eat My Apple [HIGARA]

HIGARA returns showcasing new interpretations of Weekend Heroes 'Eat My Apple'. Originally released in 2009 via Plastik Park it's a production that still sounds fresh today. Crisp, rhythmic and highly charged for peak time play it's one of many Weekend Heroes bombs that left lasting dance floor memories. Now the Israeli duo invite Analog Jungs and Mononoid to breath new life into the track.

Currently on excellent form are Argentinean duo Analog Jungs. Operating out of the heart of Cordoda, the Argentinean duo have found a home on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and HIGARA affiliate Beat Boutique. Always creative remixers the duo craft a pacey, peak time creation built around finely tuned percussion and harmonic refrains. Quite subversive, it's mysterious arps grow into the break where a classic roll and dynamic payoff are sure to light up your dance floor.

Also making their label debut and providing the second interpretation of 'Eat My Apple' are Mononoid. The Netherlands based duo continue to excite electronic music fans with their releases on Beatfreak, Beat Boutique, Einmusika, ICONYC and Stil Vor Talent. Here they take 'Eat My Apple' into dark, astral territory with great results. On a backbone of chunky bass stabs and percussive flairs comes an array of ethereal synth designs and buzzing lines. Striking stabs heighten tension heading into the final break as muted beats rise and a wave of claps sparks a powerful drop.

Rounding out the release label bosses Weekend Heroes provide a fresh edit for 2020. Crisp, buoyant and energetic, it not only shows just how far ahead of it's time the track actually was but can more than deliver powerful dance floors moments with it's unique transitional shifts and rhythmic prowess. Big in 2009 and big today it caps off an excellent set of updates for 'Eat My Apple'. Highly recommended.
