Starting out in 2005, Spuri has quietly built a strong career for himself. His crisp, clean beats and devastating sound design have won him many plaudits including Sasha, Guy J and many others. Opening with the trail-blazing lead track, Vauxhall sinister synth shots ricochet amid industrial sweeps and a groovesome saw-toothed bass line. Functional and dance floor focused, it stands head and shoulders above its contemporaries. By contrast, Covent Garden opens with a repeated stab motif driving the track forward with sparse tribal percussion. Off-beat cowbells and knocks add a welcome level of wonky before the main synth hook takes the track to new heights. Dubby and understated, Knightsbridge languishes in your subconscious.
