Sebastian Busto - Roots [Balkan Connection]

Sebastian Busto returns to Balkan Connection this week for a brand new single entitled 'Roots'. The Argentinean artist last appeared on the Serbian imprint with his 'Anesthesia' EP from November of 2016 and has 2017 releases on Sound Avenue and Just Movement. Now with the summer season in full swing Sebastian presents his latest single alongside remixes from Emi Galvan, Analog Jungs and Martin Gardoqui & Franco Tejedor.

Sebastian has become loved for his dreamy brand of progressive house. Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have already chimed in with support on many of the Argentine's past releases and 'Roots' looks set for a similar fate. Backed by a deliberate, driving groove the track makes its presence felt with a dark tonal theme and fresh electronics. Playful arps bring a vibrate tone however and it creates a really interesting contrast in moods, add to that some lovely vocal elements and you've got a moody, emotional gem of a track.

Some of Argentina's finest have been called in for remix duty beginning with Emi Galvin who makes his third appearance on the label. Fresh off a single for Baroque records earlier this year (complete with a Quivver remix) Emi continues on fine form with a great interpretation of 'Roots'. Bringing it closer to the dance floor with a punchy, tightly wound groove, clap delays and a shimmering melodic top line this looks set to one of Emi's most sought after remixes to date.

Next up the Analog Jungs duo return to Balkan Connection for their 11th appearance and take a deeper approach. The tempo shifts slightly here for a looser, laid back vibe while the main elements get well conveyed but with their own unique twist. The main arp sounds fabulous and is probably the star of the show with timely modulation and a great moment after the drop.

The release concludes with Martin Gardoqui & Franco Tejedor making their label debut and providing their all time best work. The duo's big, burly interpretation draws nicely from the original but with a bit more grit and toughness in overall design. A running time of over ten and a half minutes makes it quite the journey but there's more than enough story lines to make it captivating every step of the way. A very inspired remix from Martin and Franco which closes the release out on a strong note. Great stuff from Balkan Connection once again. Don't miss it.
