Sebastian Busto – Chronos [Dopamine Music]

The latest release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine Music welcomes Sebastian Busto to the label for his debut single. Known for his pure progressive sound Sebastian has become a favourite of Hernan Cattaneo having appeared in the sets of the legendary DJ on multiple occasions. The Argentinean artist also has an impressive discography, highlighted by an appearance on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden to begin the year. Sebastian now presents his first single for Dopamine Music alongside remixes from Nishan Lee and Pacco and Rudy B.

Sebastian is fresh off launching Fernando Ferreyra's Dreamers imprint with some of his most melodic work to date. His debut for Dopamine 'Chronos' comes in darker and more suited to late night play. It's rolling underbelly is full of momentous waves while delicate melodies and plucky hooks fill in the framework. The two minute break is perhaps the most profound highlight, flowing though hopeful vocal phrases and wistful atmospherics, perfectly setting up an emotive conclusion.

The first interpretation is provided by Nishan Lee who is making his first appearance on Dopamine Music. The Sri Lankan artist proved to be one of 2017's breakout stars in progressive house, with his sound finding favour with Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. His Dopamine debut has been much anticipated and delivers in a major way, reshaping the original into a smooth dance floor jam. It's perfectly contoured groove comes with a effortless energy while a second act comprised of two breaks, splits the narrative into something profoundly beautiful before the road home.

The second and final interpretation of 'Chronos' is provided by Pacco and Rudy B who are also making their label debut. The Croatian duo have found a home on Proton's Particles imprint and A Must Have where their unique take on progressive house has flourished. A decade long career makes them one of the genre's most storied duo's and their Dopamine debut has been long overdue. Closing the release out strong Pacco and Rudy put an old school feel on the track with a warm, rolling groove, classic melodic lines and gorgeous free form atmospheres. Angelic vocals and soulful instrumentation add wonderfully before an 80's inspired break steals the air, setting up a purring finale. An excellent remix by Pacco and Rudy B and a great second release of 2018 for Nikko.Z's Dopamine Music.
