Ziger's Eat My Hat Music continues a strong start to their journey by welcoming Nosh and SJ to the label for their debut single. The Indian duo launched their production career in 2013 while also becoming residents at Mumbai's trendiest nightclubs. Now six years on Nosh and SJ have developed a distinct sonic aesthetic which is all their own. The duo's meticulous discography is highlighted by releases on Balkan Connection, Dopamine Music and Lowbit Records. Now making their Eat My Hat debut Nosh and SJ present their latest single '17.17' alongside a remix from label boss Ziger.

Although relatively prolific, Nosh and SJ have an uncanny knack of bettering themselves with each successive outing. '17.17' once again builds on the duo's sonic profile with a decidedly dark and astral creation that's nicely dialled for the dance floor. Laying the foundation is a bed of punchy beats, chunky bass stabs and growling electronics. Sheets of noise and percussive flurries provide dynamic moments across the first act, while a cosmic arp continues to push momentum forward into the break. Buzzing and tension filled, the interlude further elevates mood with icy pads and tasteful modulation, before eventually melting down to a sonic sizzle as the groove drops for a magic moment.

The lone interpretation of '17.17' is provided by Eat My Hat label boss Ziger. The Greek artist is fresh off his Beatport Hype Chart #1 single 'Faded Realm', which had the distinction of launching the label. Supported by progressive music's top tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Guy Mantzur, it proved to be another memorable piece added to a discography that includes releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Eleatics, Plattenbank Records and Sudbeat Music. Now returning to his comfortable home of Eat My Hat, Ziger delivers a stunning rendition of '17.17' to round the release out in style. The ominous vibe of the original is well maintained but with a greater emphasis on peak time storyboarding. Anchored by a full, free flowing groove, the narrative of effects and sonic artefacts is a feast for the senses. Haunting overlays add a mystical charm as fragmented arps and percussive waves flow effortlessly into the main break. Spanning nearly two minutes in length the interlude is a master class in building tension. Frayed sonics and icy pads eventually give way to meditative arps, as clusters of drums build to a boil, setting up a commanding drop. Another colossal creation from Ziger, which you'll no doubt be hearing a lot in the coming months. Don't miss it.
