Monojoke – Safari Orange [Soundteller Records]

Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Monojoke back to the label for a new three track artist showcase. The Polish artist has delivered some of his best material for the Polish imprint in the past. 2017's 'Redemption' and 2018's 'Smokescreen' remain some of Monojoke's most memorable creations and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of progressive music fans. Now continuing his long running relationship with Soundteller, the Cracow resident returns with 'Safari Orange'.

Beginning with the percussive rumbles of the title cut your anticipation level immediately gets set to high. Spacious yet powerful the lowend is made up of perfectly contoured bass swells while indistinct vocal elements and barrage of Monojoke's trademark effects fill in the framework. The main break sees the low spring to life, becoming a focal point before getting washed away into a magnificent melodic theme. Quite magical, this is definitely one for those mashy dance floor moments and with an exhilarating build expect a massive reaction.

Continuing with 'Blue Legion' Monojoke brings the tempo up and follows a similar sonic ethos to it's predecessor. More musically driven however, the first act is make up of catchy fragments, vocal snips and a maze of finely tuned percussion. The break comes early and a what a colossal interlude it is, full of intriguing artefacts and hazy harmonic qualities, building for a wall of melody and colour before ultimately peaking during an exhilarating third act.

Rounding out the release are the driving vibes of 'Neon Desert'. Perhaps the most 'peak time' of the three here it's got a full and buoyant low end which marries well with a charming harmonic narrative. Sweeping noise does wonders for both emotion and tension, while vocal choirs and a euphoric lead theme dominate the main break. It's epic in the best sense of the word, quite fearless by today's standards and certainly one to send your dance floor home with a smile. Smashing stuff from Monojoke who once again presents some of his best ever work for Deersky's Soundteller Records. Don't miss it.
