Kostya Outta, Sistersweet – Bali River [Balkan Connection]

The latest release from Balkan Connection finds the label welcoming Kostya Outta back for a new single in collaboration with Sistersweet. Having recently shared a joint free download creation with fellow countryman Dmitry Molosh, the Belarus based artist now lands back on Serbia's premiere progressive destination alongside Russian artist Sistersweet. Together the duo craft the bouncy, melodic number 'Bali River' alongside remixes from Mariner + Domingo and Hot TuneiK. The Original mix comes in with a timeless progressive sensibility; amazingly groovy yet musical through out. It's dreamy atmospheres and vibrant chord stabs carry the journey into a cinematic break which sits as the track's emotional centrepiece, eventually seguing into a smooth conclusion.

Continuing on an amazing run of releases are Mariner + Domingo who provide the first remix. The US duo are coming off an excellent two track EP for Sound Avenue, while also laying down a remix for Analog Jungs and 3rd Avenue in January. Here they return to Balkan Connection for a spirited take on 'Bali River'. As expected we get a production of the highest order; immaculately crafted with a variety of exotic drum elements, it really is a feast for the senses. What's different here is the duo have gone a bit bigger and more progressive than we've perhaps ever heard, thus bringing greater range to their portfolio and complementing the original beautifully.

Rounding out the release is Guateque Music boss Hot TuneiK who provides the second and final remix. Also a master craftsman, the Mexican artist is known for his percussive, progressive journey's which often take the listener into a deep state of mediation. For his 'Bali River' interpretation Hot TuneiK creates a groovy take on the track which emphasises strong percussion and a band of quirky arps which percolate beautifully. A dreamy break adds further depth, allowing moments of calm while rising anticipation towards a bouncy conclusion. Excellent music as usual from Hot TuneiK, rounding out what is Balkan Connection's strongest release of the year thus far. Highly recommended.
