Kamilo Sanclemente – Jadhe [Nature Rec]

Founded by Dhany G and Leo Perez, Nature Rec arrives in grand fashion with a new single from Kamilo Sanclemente. Long regarded as one of Colombia’s foremost progressive house talents, the Cali resident has found a home on Anjunadeep, Replug and The Soundgarden, while earning continued support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. In what has been his most prolific year to date, Kamilo now delivers the inaugural release for Nature Rec alongside remixes from Leo Perez & Dhany G, Gux Jimenez and Santo Adriano.

The depth of Kamilo's studio repertoire has grown in recent years. Now equally adept at crafting peak time progressive bombs as he is deep organic house cuts, the Colombian artist leans towards the former with 'Jadhe'. Tough beats and waves of undulating bass power the foundation, while electric rhythms and driving percussion surround the framework. Trippy vocal gates trail across the first act, unveiling additional percussive layers and buzzing synth designs, before a dazzling maze of arps seals it's brilliance during an emotive break.

The first interpretation of 'Jadhe' is provided by label bosses Dhany G and Leo Perez. Hailing from Cuba and Panama respectively, the duo have been frequent studio partners since first collaborating on a single for One Of A Kind in January of 2019. Subsequent releases for Balkan Connection, Bevel Rec and Droid9 have all been sensational and built a great creative synergy between the duo. Now launching their Nature Rec imprint together they turn in a stellar rendition of 'Jadhe'. A reworked groove adds additional shape and bounce without losing the energetic appeal of the original. Melodic fragments and timely effects slowly fill in the framework, before a wave of metallic synths initiates the main break. Glistening arps and otherworldly effects converge across the centrepiece, eventually melting down into classy drop and chugging final movement.

The second interpretation of 'Jadhe' is provided by Gux Jimenez. Hailing from Cartagena, the Colombian artist has grown into one of his country's best up and coming progressive house producers. Releases via Clubsonica Records, Droid9 and Soundteller Records, coupled with support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have made for a remarkable rise. Now fresh off two releases on Balkan Connection, Gux debuts on Nature Rec with a powerful take on 'Jadhe'. The tempo shifts down for a gritty, cutting edge interpretation which complements the previous two versions quite nicely. Piercing synths and acid-like lines are striking early on, but it's an emotive break which works wonders here. Taking away some of the tension and played out in grandiose fashion, it provides a perfect segue into a warm and groovy finale.

Rounding out the release and providing the final interpretation of 'Jadhe' is Santo Adriano. The Argentinean artist has also been a favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren in recent years and has showcased his music on Balkan Connection, Magician On Duty, MNL and One Of A Kind. Adding further depth to the release the Buenos Aires resident provides a stripped down, hypnotic version of 'Jadhe'. Engaging from the outset, its warm, pulsating framework is crafted to perfection with smooth rhythms and hypnotic arps converging for a gorgeous free form story. Perfectly timed, the track’s centrepiece is tastefully trippy, adding a cosmic slant to the narrative as the groove drops for a meditative finale. A brilliant remix from Santo which caps off a very impressive first release for Nature Rec, most certainly a label for progressive music fans to be following going forward. Highly recommended.
