K Loveski – Spinola [Strangers Beats]

Antrim's Or Two Strangers offshoot Strangers Beats returns with a new two track EP from K Loveski. The Russian artist is fresh off releases for Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain while his collaborations with sometime studio partner Ewan Rill have graced Balkan Connection, Magnitude Recordings and Yang. Now debuting on Strangers Beats, K Loveski presents his 'Spinola' EP.

Beginning with the title selection the Russian artist crafts a smooth progressive narrative highlighted by a spoken word vocal sample. It's bulbous foundation is abundantly groovy while a healthy percussive complement and spacey electronics make for a journey that is both emotive and astral. The main break showcases the vocal beautifully, evolving through thoughtful fragments before a smooth build ushers in lively finale.

The companion piece 'Du Canova' follows a similar sonic ethos with another spacey, vocal led journey. Mood and tempo are at a premium here with a chunky groove, waves of percussion and a catchy lead hook that gets better with each successive loop. Add to that an inspired vocal narrative during the break and you've got a hugely memorable dance floor moment. It rounds out a great EP from K Loveski which adds nicely to the Strangers Beats ever growing discography. Highly recommended.
