Jacob Seville – Filth [Strange Town Recordings]

Jacob Seville returns to Strange Town Recordings with a new single entitled ‘Filth’. The Polish artist last appeared on the Canadian imprint in July of this year with his ‘No Worries’ EP and has since released a five track concept collection and a remix through his excellent Depthtone imprint. Jacob now presents his latest effort for Strange Town alongside remixes from Sonabit and Wade Bennett.

Jacob’s most recent work, his remix of ‘Selfish’ by Tytt feat Radio Rose proved to be one of his most inspired creations to date. He keeps that momentum going here with the equally impressive ‘Filth’. Aptly titled there is a raw character to the piece which certainly makes for a compelling listen and will no doubt sound amazing on a club system. The main break takes that ethos a notch further with an wave or rather assault of grainy sonics which eventually give way to a third act of quirky hooks and firing percussion. This one is big!

Both remixers do an excellent job at adding a unique twist to the original beginning with Sonabit. Based in Berlin by way of Argentina, Sonabit strips the piece down a touch while utilizing the main synth elements in a less distinct way, eventually leading to a break complete with waves of white noise and a clever atmospheric bridge into a deadly drop.

Closing the release out is Strange Town artist Wade Bennett who returns to the label following his ‘Varial’ EP and a remix of ‘Nature’s Secret’ by Michael A. The UK artist ups the tempo considerably for a wicked slice of melodic techno. Warm, fluid and incredibly emotive it’s a radical overhaul with both reflective and timeless qualities. The main break proves impactful with opportune modulation leading to an impassioned reservoir, before effortlessly segueing into a smooth finale. A stellar remix from Wade which caps off another excellent release on Strange Town Recordings. Don't miss it.
