Hasith makes a welcome return to Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind with 'Eclipse'. The Sri Lankan artist first appeared on the Serbian imprint in June of last year with a remix of fellow countryman Nishan Lee. Now fresh of releases for Soundteller Records and Yin:Yang, Hasith returns to One Of A Kind for his first single alongside remixes from Mir Omar and Neftali Blasko.

Beginning with the original mix Hasith crafts a deep, progressive roller with great meditative qualities. Sitting atop it's pulsating framework are liquid like arps and a wondrous percussive wave. Subtle modulation and hazy atmospherics build beautifully across the first act before smoothly segueing into the main break. It's gaseous interlude is both dramatic and tension filled, perfectly setting up a series of gorgeous bass swells and a timely roll into a classy drop. It makes for an exhilarating shift in energy without being one of those 'too big' moments. Also included is Hasith's 'Sunrise Interpretation' which follows the Original's lead but with some added flair. Quirky hooks make for a memorable first act while the main break offers more of melodic narrative as cascading themes and glitchy electronics unite in a symphony of sound.

Mir Omar has been popping up more frequently of late and the progressive underground is following along for the ride. The NYC resident has fast become a genre favourite with his sleek productions appeasing a wide variety of the genres top taste-makers. Now making his One Of A Kind debut he puts his own unique touch on 'Eclipse'. Clocking in at well over ten minutes Mir brings some buoyant flavour to the mix with lively rhythmic concepts which develop across the first act. The main break however greatly expands the melodic narrative with a near two minute stretch of hypnotic arps and tepid overlays. It's a colourful storyboard to get lost in and with a tight and timely roll there's an added spark to ignite the final act.

The release concludes with Neftali Blasko returning to the label for his second appearance. The Mexican artist remixed Forniva for the label's 20th release in 2017 and has since showcased his music on Sounds Of Earth and Chrom Recordings. Always a creative remixer Neftali takes 'Eclipse' into esoteric territory with a techno inspired redition that focuses on a deliberate groove, grainy effects and ominous overtones. It makes for a mix which not only complements the previous versions but rounds the release out on a strong note. A great offering for One Of A Kind which further cements Hasith as one of the progressive scenes fastest rising stars. Don't miss it.
