Movement Recordings continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Gabriel Amato to the label for his debut EP. Rising out of Argentina's electronic music underground, the Buenos Aires resident has found a home on 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection South America, Clinique Recordings and onedotsixtwo. Now just two years into his production journey, Gabriel steps up to Movement Recordings with 'Astral' alongside a remix from Kenan Savrun.

Spread across three tracks it's the progressive techno moods of 'Voices' which get the EP underway. Dark and hypnotic from the outset it's punchy low end and crunchy rhythms provide momentous drive, while astral effects and haunting chimes fill in the framework. Stripping down into the main break, the narrative expands as indistinct vocals add a dramatic flair, eventually getting washed away into a swirling reservoir, before effortlessly shifting energy into a haunting finale act.

The second and also title selection 'Astral' follows a similar sonic ethos with a further lean into techno inspired territory. Beginning with a rippling groove the piece moves with discernible momentum as layers of percussion and buzzing synths converge for an effervescent core. A spacey lead motif shifts the narrative further into cosmic territory as waves of effects continue to saturate your senses. Trance inducing yet tense, it's a kaleidoscope of cosmic colours that flow beautifully through the heart of the piece, effortlessly shifting energy into an exhilarating third act.

The third and final original 'Anthrax' follows suit with a heady, percussive vibe for the more astute connoisseur. Beginning with tight beats and exotic drums it's rhythmic appeal quickly captures your imagination. Waves of clustered percussion and haunting tones descend over the framework, as a wavering backdrop continues to build tension. Oriental instrumentation carries into main break, bending the narrative into emotive territory and ultimately sealing the track's unique appeal.

The release concludes with Kenan Savrun providing the lone interpretation of 'Anthrax'. Hailing from Ankara, the Turkish artist has a long history as a DJ dating back to 2003, having shared the booth with Alex Niggemann, Eli and Fur, Andy Bros, Victor Ruiz and Oliver Huntemann. Upon releasing his first productions in September of 2018, Kenan has since gone on to showcase his music on 3rd Avenue, Droid9, Eat My Hat and Soundteller Records. Now making his much-anticipated Movement Recordings debut, Kenan provides a powerful rendition of 'Anthrax' to round the release out on a strong note. Opting for a similarly punchy groove, the Ankara resident focuses on a strong effects narrative and a fragmented take on the lead theme, resulting in a great complement to the original. Undeniably peak time, the main break builds waves of tension across it's one-minute running time, before a fiery final act seals it's brilliance. A massive remix from Kenan which caps off another incredible release for Tash's Movement Recordings.
