Releases GabiM – Reset [MNL] By Release Promo Posted on 1st March 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Kicking off his 2018 in style, GabiM makes his debut on Paul Hazendonk’s MNL imprint with ‘Reset’. The Hungarian born, Malta based artist had a quiet 2017 with just two new productions so this single is certainly a welcome one for his fans. Alongside the original are two remixes from Kostya Outta and Nicolas Rada who are also making their label debuts. The original mix sits nicely in the progressive old school with it’s galloping groove and icy atmospherics. The first act proves to be deep and meditative with ominous tones and droning synths carrying the pace. A quiet break moves more into suspenseful, cinematic territory, building subtly before shifting energy into a smooth finale. Following up his ‘Rebirth’ single on Balkan Connection, Kostya Outta goes a bit deeper, lowering the tempo while adding a more emotive touch. Expanding on the themes from the original with brighter motifs, particularly during the main break, makes for a warmer mood and thus a great complement to the original. The release concludes with one of the progressive scenes current faves in Nicolas Rada. The Argentinean artist is fresh off two remixes in conjunction with legendary DJ Nick Warren, both of which have continued to dominate Beatport’s progressive house charts months after their release. Now closing the release out Nicolas brings his groovy, percussive approach to ‘Reset’. The droney vibe of the original is well conveyed but with a tighter rhythmic core and fuller, shapely groove it should prove fantastic on the dance floor. It already appears to be a feedback favourite amongst DJs and will no doubt be another highly sought after production like all of Nicolas’ work.
