Andrés Moris – Above The Sky/Astro [Droid9 Limited]

The latest release from Droid9 Limited welcomes Andres Moris back to the label for his first EP. Having first appeared on the label in October of last year with a remix of Jesuan M's 'Varsovia', the Argentinean artist went on to showcase his music with Antrim's Or Two Strangers, BCSA, One Of A Kind and Strangers Beats. Now stepping up for one of the most anticipated releases of his young career, Andres lands back on Droid9 Limited with 'Above The Sky/Astro' alongside remixes from Fabri Lopez and K Loveski.

Beginning with 'Above The Sky' Andre continues to deliver quality dance floor material. Positive and energetic from the outset, it's smooth chord changes marry beautifully with tasteful melodies and how the mood shifts from an emotive break to electric final act is excellent. 'Astro' follows suit with a similarly modern progressive feel. A spacious yet groovy framework provides a smooth, pulsating flow of energy for pixie-like melodies to work their magic. The break stands as a huge moment in the narrative, melting down to a cinematic wave of synths, before a bed of sparkling melodies provides a bridge into a chugging finale.

The lone interpretation of 'Above The Sky' is provided by Fabri Lopez. With continued support from progressive music’s key tastemakers, the Argentinean artist is coming off his best and most prolific year to date, highlighted by releases on Balkan Connection and Droid9. Now fresh off a big remix for Clubsonica Records, Fabri works his magic yet again on 'Above The Sky'. With a fuller, warmer groove and larger atmospheric presence, the Cordoba resident utilizes the main melodies to perfection, building a captivating narrative before a poignant break seals it's brilliance.

Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of 'Astro' is K Loveski. The Russian artist has continued to rise in the progressive music landscape, earning support from Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J, while landing releases on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Balance Music. His groovy, melodic sound lends itself well to 'Astro', complementing the Original with a fuller, more musical version. The addition of some nicely placed vocal samples adds depth and character, allowing you to get further lost in it's evolving atmospheric storyboard. A brilliant remix from K Loveski, capping off an enormous release for Droid9 Limited, with all four tracks being of supreme quality. Highly recommended.
