Analog Jungs – Echoes / Laugh and Mourn [Dopamine Music]

The 75th release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine Music welcomes Analog Jungs to the label for their debut single. Hailing from Argentina , Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte make up the Analog Jungs production duo. Formed in 2015 the duo has quickly amassed an impressive discography with releases on Balkan Connection, Or Two Strangers, Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. Now making their much anticipated debut on Dopamine, Analog Jungs present their new EP 'Echoes and Laugh and Mourn' alongside remixes from Danny Lloyd and Replicanth.

Analog Jungs have always had a unique sound that sits somewhere between deep and progressive house. 'Echoes' once again showcases this over a smooth and seductive seven minute journey. Beginning with sultry bass stabs and organic percussion the piece flows wonderfully through meandering, atmospheric motifs. Strong musicality highlights the main break as an underlying piano narrative steals your heart, before a smooth shift in energy brings on a deep yet exhilarating finale. The companion piece 'Laugh and Mourn' proves to be the ideal complement with its delicate arps, tasteful melodies and warm, luminous groove. The main break brings perhaps the most heartfelt moment on the EP with emotive chord changes and warm swells setting up a stripped back yet incredibly powerful drop.

The first interpretation of 'Echoes' is provided by Danny Lloyd who is making his second appearance on the label. The Italian artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in September of 2014 with a remix of 'Kibou' by Praveen Achary. Danny also owns releases on Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings and continues to be a favourite of legendary DJ Hernan Cattaneo. His remix of 'Echoes' showcases his smooth, fluid style perfectly. Contoured bass tones power the bouncy groove while vibrant rhythms and cascading melodies create a kaleidoscope of colour across the eight minute journey.

Closing the release out is the Replicanth interpretation of 'Laugh and Mourn'. Amidst much praise, the Mexican artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in May of of this year and also owns releases on Sudam Recordings and We Are The Underground. Aptly titled '5 AM' Mix the tempo slows a touch and the grooves get deeper and dubbier. Spooky tones and a trail of wispy effects meld perfectly with the hazy atmospherics before a timely break foreshadows a dramatic conclusion. A fitting end to another well rounded release from Dopamine Music. Don't miss it.
